Getting started
This walkthrough takes you from a brand-new workspace to your first logged flight.
1. Sign in
Section titled “1. Sign in”Sign up with Google, Apple, or an email and password. With an email and password you verify your email address first, and a second factor is required (see Account & security). You choose a plan as part of setup — nothing is picked for you:
- Free needs no card.
- A paid plan asks for a card before your workspace is created. It starts a 14-day free trial when your email address is verified and it hasn’t had a trial before, and the card isn’t charged until the trial ends. If you end the trial with no card on file, everything keeps working for 3 more days and then the workspace becomes read-only until a plan is chosen — see Plans & billing.
- If your address is unverified, or has had a trial before, a paid plan has no trial: setup shows the price, takes the card, and you confirm the first charge right after setup. Your workspace is on Free until you do.
- A promo code that doesn’t need a card skips the card step: apply it on the plan step and the trial starts with no card. A code can’t skip the card when the plan starts paid.
The mobile app can’t take a card yet. To start a paid trial from your phone, use a code that doesn’t need a card, or set up on the web.
You can change plans any time in Settings → Billing. See Plans & billing for what each plan includes.
2. Set up your workspace
Section titled “2. Set up your workspace”A six-step setup wizard walks you through:
- Your organization name, its web address (slug) and, optionally, your Part 107 waiver number.
- Your address (optional, skippable).
- A logo upload (optional, skippable).
- Which parts of the product you want turned on (see below).
- Your plan, with an optional promo code field. Continue stays disabled until you pick one. For a paid plan, the same step then asks for your card, unless the promo code you applied doesn’t need one. Nothing is charged on this step; if the card is declined you can try another or choose Free.
- A confirmation step that creates the organization.
3. Choose your modules
Section titled “3. Choose your modules”Above an always-on compliance floor — flight logs, aircraft, crew, maintenance, documents, and compliance — three parts of the product are independent on/off switches:
| Module | What it adds |
|---|---|
| Scheduling | Plan flights ahead of time on the schedule board. |
| Events | Multi-aircraft shows and jobs — requires Scheduling. |
| Commercial | Jobs, clients, quotes, invoices, and analytics. |
Every module defaults on, and turning one off is never a paywall — it’s purely a declutter option for a workspace that doesn’t need it. Turning Scheduling off also turns off Events, since Events builds on the schedule; turning Scheduling back on restores whatever Events choice you had. Nothing about a module choice is permanent: change it any time in Settings → Modules, and turning a module back on restores every screen with all of its data intact — hiding a module never deletes anything, filters a query, or blocks a write.
4. The setup checklist
Section titled “4. The setup checklist”Once your workspace exists, the dashboard leads with a three-step checklist until you’ve completed it:
- Register your first aircraft (Fleet).
- Add a crew member (Crew).
- Log your first flight — the step opens the Schedule.
Each step is marked done as soon as the matching data exists (an aircraft, a crew member, a flight in the schedule list) — there’s no separate “complete” button to click. Once all three are done, the checklist drops away and the dashboard switches to your operations overview: fleet and crew counts, active alerts, and upcoming flights.
